The choice of products for Building Design Construction's annual 101 product report is up to you, our readers. From security doors to metal ceilings, from fabric pipes to rain curtain wall systems, from linear drainage pipes to germicidal LED lighting, these are the products that readers who have appeared on magazine pages in the past 12 months want to know more. These products are selected based on the number of reader service inquiries. The BD C editor also selected some of our favorites (marked as "Editor's Choice").

Project: Lifestyle Communities, Nashville, Tennessee. Problem: The project needed a thermal insulation solution to help meet the mandatory requirements of the California Green Building Standard Code and Tier 1 requirements. Solution: The team used more than 215,000 square feet of Atlas EnergyShield CGF Pro for wall insulation and 500,000 square feet of ACFoam-II for roof insulation because of their low VOC emissions and performance. EnergyShield GCF Pro wall insulation material is moisture-permeable, composed of Class A fireproof (NFPA 285), closed-cell polyheterogeneous rigid foam core material, and high-performance coated glass surfaces on the front and back. This rigid vacuum insulation panel has a microporous core which is evacuated, wrapped and sealed in an airtight enclosure. The result is an ultra-thin (20 mm to 50 mm) insulation product with a thermal efficiency five times higher than that of ordinary insulation products. R-values range from R-29 to R-60. The VacuSeal Vent Secured Roofing System uses special vents that use wind to lock the roof membrane in place. Negative pressure ventilation draws air and moisture out of the film to keep the insulation dry and R value. VacuSeal reduces installation time and minimizes the need for traditional fastening methods, thereby reducing the amount of glue, ballast, or fasteners required for the project. Project: CapitaLand Museum of Creative Invention, Gainesville, Florida. Problem: Museums need creative and eye-catching designs. Solution: 11,400 square feet of No. 22 PAC-CLAD corrugated straight board and 6,000 square feet of PAC-CLAD corrugated curved board, all with Galvalume Plus finish, installed in the museum's explosion circle plan. Project: The Towers @ Great America, Santa Clara, California. Problem: The outdoor dining area of this multi-tenant office building needs shade, while still being able to connect with the redesigned amenity building and dining space. Solution: Overhanging metal mesh covers cast soft shadows to help minimize direct sunlight and glare. A 45-foot-long mechanical sliding glass wall separates the outdoor dining area from the indoor dining space. The canopy serves as a continuation of the overhead plane, especially when the wall is opened, to further connect the two spaces. Project: Goya Global Headquarters in Jersey City, New Jersey. Problem: This fast-growing Hispanic food company needed a corporate headquarters and warehouse to meet the demand for its food range. To help prevent deterioration caused by UV exposure during construction, Dörken Systems developed Delta-Stratus SA, the industry's only moisture-permeable and waterproof barrier with a fourth layer of additional UV protection. The barrier has two outer layers of high-strength polypropylene fabric, a breathable and waterproof polymer middle layer and an inner layer made of acrylic anti-ultraviolet coating. Delta-Stratus SA has been tested using real conditions to ensure that it maintains the best water permeability, air tightness and architectural integrity. Project: Museum on the Plaza, Santa Rosa, California Problem: The City of Santa Rosa hopes to transform this dazzling and abandoned AT&T exchange into a mixed-use development. The architectural team needed to make a bold design statement to make the project a commercial center in the downtown area. Solution: The original plan called for an all-glass curtain wall to be used on the front of the 83x126-foot building. Considering that the budget of $16 million is too expensive, the architect stipulated that perforated metal plates should be used as decorative sun visors on the glass part. The panel is made of McNichols perforated metal with round holes and an opening area of 46.3%. Approximately 150 white, resin-coated, 4x10-foot panels are molded into an origami-like beauty. Project: Rome (Texas) High School. Problem: The school has roof leaks at various transition points, resulting in excessive damage. Solution: The original leaking tile roof was removed and replaced by McElroy's 138T symmetrical standing seam metal roof. The system is also used to re-cover existing roofs. Arriscraft's Metropolitan stone series combines longer lengths and different heights to increase flexibility to create multiple appearances on the exterior of the building. The metropolitan masonry unit uses a sandblasted texture. Each gemstone is 315/8 inches long, and there are 3 elevation heights to choose from: 41/4, 61/2, and 115/16 inches. Kebony, a manufacturer of modified wood products, has introduced a clip system that allows contractors to easily use the company's wood siding to make rain curtain cladding. This system replaces the pre-drilled cladding, reduces installation and labor costs, and eliminates the potential for moisture penetration of surface fasteners.
